From the walk-on to the gala stage
01 · The walk-on
Spring season. House lights at half, the MC counting the room in, gold fringe first through the curtain.
02 · The first dance
At Last, arranged for horns two weeks earlier. The couple heard their chart for the first time right here.
03 · The horn feature
Theo's section, mid-stab. This is the set piece that separates a revue from other bands for hire.
04 · The dancefloor set
Set two, Northern Soul back to back. Nobody at the bar, which is the entire point of set two.
05 · Three voices, vintage mics
A garden evening, the slow feature. Cecelia center, Dot and Ruby answering, the room fully quiet.
06 · The annual gala, full stage
