The fine print, kept fine
Privacy policy
Effective July 4, 2026
This policy covers velvelettes.com, the website of The Velvelettes booking office. It is written in plain English because you should not need a lawyer to find out what happens to your email address. The short version: we collect an email address when you give it to us, we use it to reply and to send you what you asked for, and we never sell it.
What we collect
There is no account system and no payment processing on this site, so we never see card numbers or passwords. We collect only:
- Details you give us. Your email address when you check availability or join the Soul Club, plus, if you choose to share them, your occasion and your event date.
- The show program you build. The program desk runs in your browser; a program summary reaches us only if you attach it to an inquiry or ask us to email it to you.
- Technical data. IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected through Microsoft Clarity, our analytics tool. We also record the page you arrived on and, if present, the referral tags in the link you followed, and we use your IP address to rate-limit the signup form against abuse.
Why we use it
- To reply to your availability inquiry from the booking office.
- To send the six-digit confirmation code that verifies your email address.
- To send one Soul Notes letter a month, and only if you joined the Soul Club.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
That is the whole list. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of consent. You typed your email address in yourself and confirmed it with a code, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us or using the unsubscribe link in any letter we send.
How long we keep it
We keep your details until you ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe from the Soul Club, the letters stop immediately; if you ask for deletion, we remove your record from our systems. The only thing we may keep afterwards is aggregate, non-identifying statistics, such as how many inquiries arrived in a given month.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing. Two processors handle data on our behalf:
- Our email delivery provider, which sends the confirmation code and the Soul Notes letter.
- Microsoft Clarity, which provides the analytics described above.
Both act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Cookies
The site sets a session cookie that the site needs to function, and analytics cookies set by Microsoft Clarity. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will handle it promptly, usually within a few days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with an updated effective date. A meaningful change will also be mentioned in the Soul Notes letter.
