Wedding band Charlotte:
a Motown and soul revue for the Queen City

A wedding band in Charlotte works two very different rooms in the same city: a polished Uptown ballroom one Saturday and a rolling estate outside the beltway the next. The Velvelettes bring a staged Motown and soul revue to the Queen City: three voices, live horns, choreography and an MC, with transparent packages from $3,400 to $12,500 and no house-band markup.

One weekend it is an Uptown hotel ballroom with a loading dock and a banquet captain, the next a barn or garden estate in Waxhaw or up toward Lake Norman, or a converted mill space in South End. Charlotte is a fly date from Detroit. We arrive the day before, and the stage plot, insurance certificate and power spec reach your venue in the advance; hotel ballrooms and rural estates want very different power and load-in plans, and we ask which before we load in.

Charlotte weddings favor spring and fall, April through June and September through November, and those peak Saturdays book 12 to 18 months out. As a major banking and corporate headquarters city, Charlotte also runs a heavy calendar of company galas and sales celebrations, so wedding weekends compete with corporate dates for the best rooms, which is one more reason to lock your date early.

How a Charlotte date runs

Travel

Charlotte is a fly date. The band arrives the day before; the stage plot, COI and power spec reach your venue in the advance.

Setup

90-minute setup, 30-minute soundcheck, two 20A circuits and about 16 by 12 ft of floor for The Revue.

Good to know

Uptown hotels run banquet-captain load-ins and dock schedules; rural estates and barns often need a generator or a power plan and a weather backup. We advance both before the date.

Before you ask

Charlotte questions, answered

Is there a travel fee to Charlotte?

Yes. Charlotte is beyond our 150-mile no-fee radius, so travel is quoted per date, airfare and freight included, and shown plainly when you check availability.

Can you play a barn or estate wedding outside Charlotte?

Yes, and we plan for it. Estate and barn venues in Waxhaw, Weddington and around Lake Norman often lack the clean power a full band needs, so we confirm the electrical or arrange a quiet generator, and we build a covered-staging plan for outdoor sets. We advance every rural room for power, cover and load-in ahead of the date.

Do you play both weddings and corporate events in Charlotte?

Yes. As one of the country's largest banking centers, Charlotte books us for wedding receptions and corporate and gala events in roughly equal measure, under one contract and the same COI process.
