Wedding band San Diego:
a Motown and soul revue for the coast

A wedding band in San Diego plays some of the best weather and best views in the country, and The Velvelettes are built for that room. We bring a staged Motown and soul revue to the coast: three voices, live horns, choreography and an MC, with transparent packages from $3,400 to $12,500 and no house-band markup.

One weekend it is a bluff-top resort in La Jolla with the Pacific behind the dance floor, the next a Gaslamp Quarter ballroom, a Coronado hall or a garden estate up in the North County. San Diego is a fly date from Detroit. We arrive the day before, and the stage plot, insurance certificate and power spec reach your venue and its production office in the advance; oceanfront sites and downtown ballrooms want very different power and load-in plans, and we ask which before we load in.

San Diego books year-round thanks to the mild coast, but the prime late-spring and early-fall Saturdays still go 12 to 18 months out, and beach and cliffside sites carry amplified-sound curfews that end music earlier than couples expect. Sea air and evening cool also matter for gear and staging, so we chart the set times backward from the curfew and the sunset on your event order.

How a San Diego date runs

Travel

San Diego is a fly date. The band arrives the day before; the stage plot, COI and power spec reach your venue and its production office in the advance.

Setup

90-minute setup, 30-minute soundcheck, two 20A circuits and about 16 by 12 ft of floor for The Revue.

Good to know

Coastal and beachfront venues run amplified-sound curfews that end music early; oceanfront staging needs covered gear against sea air. We plan the crew call and set times around both.

Before you ask

San Diego questions, answered

Is there a travel fee to San Diego?

Yes. San Diego is beyond our 150-mile no-fee radius, so travel is quoted per date, airfare and freight included, and shown plainly when you check availability.

Can you work with a coastal venue's sound curfew?

Always. Many San Diego beach and cliffside venues must cut amplified music by 10 pm, sometimes earlier, under local noise rules. We build the reception timeline backward from that hard stop so the big dance sets land before the curfew, then we can close acoustic or hand off cleanly to a DJ for the after-hours.

Do you play both weddings and corporate events in San Diego?

Yes. With its convention center and resort corridor, San Diego books us for wedding receptions and corporate and conference events in roughly equal measure, under one contract and the same COI process.
