Wedding band Portland:
a Motown and soul revue for hire
The Velvelettes play weddings and corporate events across Portland and the Willamette Valley as a staged Motown and soul revue: three voices, live horns, choreography and an MC, from $3,400 plus travel.
Portland weddings skew toward two very different rooms, and they need different plans. Industrial east-side spaces have the ceiling height and the power for a full horn section but almost never have a stage, so we bring risers. Vineyard and farm venues an hour out have the setting and the sunset, and often a generator, a gravel load-in path and a hard amplified-sound curfew instead.
That curfew is the thing to settle first here. Several county jurisdictions outside the city hold outdoor amplified music to 10pm, and a few venues are stricter than the ordinance. It changes the shape of the night rather than ruining it: we move the big dance set earlier, run the last half hour acoustic or through a small PA, and nobody notices except the neighbors.

Before you ask
Portland questions, answered
How much does a wedding band cost in Portland?
Our packages start at $3,400 plus a single travel line, with the full staged Revue at $6,900 plus travel. Around Portland, live wedding bands generally run $3,000 to $12,000 depending on headcount and production, and most couples pay near $5,000. Everything we include is on our pricing page.
Can you play an outdoor vineyard wedding near Portland?
Yes, with two things confirmed in advance: a covered or shaded stage area, since neither instruments nor a PA should sit in direct sun or rain, and clean power. Generator power is fine when it is properly sized; we ask for the spec so we can check it before the date rather than at soundcheck.
Do you play corporate events in Portland?
Yes. We play company parties, conference receptions and galas across the metro on the same contract and insurance terms as weddings, with an MC and a program built to your run sheet.
