Wedding band Minneapolis:
a Motown and soul revue for hire

The Velvelettes are a Motown and soul band available for weddings and corporate events across Minneapolis and St Paul. Three voices, live horns, choreography and an MC, staged as a revue rather than a background covers set, from $3,400 plus travel.

The Twin Cities calendar is shaped by the weather in a way few markets are. Summer Saturdays at lake venues and restored mill-district halls sell out first, and a good half of what we play here lands between June and September. Winter dates are wide open and priced accordingly, which is genuinely worth knowing if your date is flexible.

Two logistics notes specific to this market. Winter load-ins mean instruments need 30 to 40 minutes indoors to come up to temperature and hold their tuning, so we build that into the arrival time rather than the soundcheck. And several of the older warehouse-conversion rooms downtown run on a single shared circuit, which a 7-piece with horns will trip, so we advance power with your venue contact every time.

Before you ask

Minneapolis questions, answered

How much does a wedding band cost in Minneapolis?

Our packages start at $3,400 plus a single travel line for a Minneapolis date, and the full staged Revue is $6,900 plus travel. The wider Twin Cities market runs about $3,000 to $12,000 for a live wedding band, with most couples landing near $5,000. Our pricing page lists what each package includes.

Do you play winter weddings in Minnesota?

Yes, and they are some of our favorite dates because the rooms are full and the calendar is open. We ask for a slightly earlier load-in so instruments can acclimate indoors before soundcheck, and we travel with backup gear in case a flight is weather-delayed.

Do you play both weddings and corporate events in Minneapolis?

Yes. The Twin Cities have a deep corporate market, and our calendar here splits between wedding receptions and company parties and galas, on the same contract and COI process.
