The Velvelettes play weddings and corporate events across Tampa, St Petersburg and Clearwater as a staged Motown and soul revue: three voices, live horns, choreography and an MC, from $3,400 plus travel.
Tampa Bay weddings divide neatly between historic downtown and Ybor City rooms with brick, high ceilings and genuinely good acoustics, and beach and waterfront venues on the Gulf side. The brick rooms flatter a horn section and need almost no help. The waterfront ones need more thought: salt air, wind off the water and a sound ordinance that several Pinellas County beach venues take seriously.
Wind is the underrated one. An open-sided beach tent moves enough air to knock over a mic stand and to make a horn section inaudible twenty feet away, so we ask for a windbreak or a partially enclosed stage on Gulf-side dates. Load-in access is the other: several waterfront rooms have a long push from parking, which we plan for in the arrival time rather than discovering at 4pm.

Good to know
Gulf-side dates need a windbreak or partially enclosed stage, and several beach venues hold amplified music to a set hour. Confirm both before the timeline is fixed.

Can you play a beach wedding near Tampa?
Yes, with a covered and wind-protected stage position. Salt air and blowing sand are hard on instruments and electronics, and wind off the Gulf will carry a horn section away from the guests. We also ask for the venue's amplified-sound cutoff, which is enforced at several Pinellas beach properties.
Do you play corporate events in Tampa?
